First release on my label will be a Mark One tune with a Plastic Man remix on it. Label's 1st release will be in March hopefully.

These are the tunes coming out on Slimzos Recordings soon.

LOL! Why did I click? What was I expecting? Tuff jam style?

Well you already know its not garage, we both know you didnt make a break, shuffle it, or spend longer than 2 mins making each riff' you prolly didnt EQ or compress anything cos theres nuttin there: its so minimal; you didnt get a headache thinking about composition and arrangment because it loops every 8 bars for 5 mins worth of the earths precious vynil resource; technically its awful and doesnt show how good u CUD produce; but Plasticman is making his way to the top and this wud be loved in a crews set, so gotta give you props (altho producing tunes my cat could ).

Good luck with ur stuff, and good luck findin a name for this genre.

Im playin...ish.

Harley, I aint even gona front, Venom is pretty tight but I duno bout shockwave. keep doing your thing

and AG your right man, there should be more to this 8bar stuff then minimalistic but then again when I think 8bar I think hiphop in a way and it's very minimal.

AG, the clip is only 2 mins..

There is a break halfway through, where after it the tune switches and turns itself back to front kinda.

If you listen very carefully you'll notice the tune is never exactly the same all the way through, some patterns have different hihat arrangements and beat downs at the end of each loop.

The arrangement is classically 8 bar, but with a little twist.

Thanks for listening all the same - I know this isn't your thing so respect for taking the time to listen, big up.

I am no great fan 0f 8-Bar beats, but I do like "Shockwave", it has a very nice intro with good effects, the main roll out of the tune I like as well. It's very minimalist and technical, but gets the job done, I think this tune is gonna do very well.

Shocwave, remember hearing this one before, on the dizzy rascal flex, but of course your own. It has an ok intro, which then leads to some grimy bass and drums. I probably would not play it myself, but if I did the crowds response will probably be hectic.

I'm more into the Zincish and Zed bias breakbeats, but as a producer I know 8-bar is running tings at the moment.
Djaguk, respect for not flying off the handle when you heard the beats, as a mature person you realise there is blantant divide in the Garage scene, and therefore must accept other styles. I reckon it's a 3 way split e.g

1. 8-bar - Wiley and Co
2. Breakbeats - Zed-bias and Zinc
3. 4 by 4 - Ez,Mj,Todd and co

All of these sounds are different, but I favour No.2-Breakbeats because the music is just rolling and keeps people on their toes. I am a great fan of Pauly C’s work, The “Six feet Under” track he did,was heavy, and just rolled along.

On whole I think these tunes are gonna sell well, it's what the majority of new-school headz want, I think ?. Big up Harley, expect your distribution company to recieve some $$$$ from me in mid March, breakbeat of course!

p.s watch out for djaguk productions, there sounding fat, oldskooled and analogued out. could be a 4*4 revival..........

Big up Breaker - quality feedback.

I'm chuffed that lots of heads are on the Shockwave track - before the clip went up not many people knew I made that so it's all good.

The vinyl is obviously for the underground heads - but with Shockwave on the flip, I was able to get away with putting such a dark tune on the other side to keep both camps happy.

Will be interesting to see how it goes, but I'll just be happy to hear the tunes getting played.

Big up you lot

didnt u used to be darksta, or is that som1 else, anyway.

These tracks are very in with the current subgenre of "8bar garage" (or slackbeat nonsense as i like to call it). Im not feeling them at all, they've no vibe or feeling, the whole "8bar" thing is so very unonomous, how can people feel this, they say that what u grow up listening to moulds your musical tastes in later life, well i listen to alot of soul, r'n'b, jazz, latin music, funk ect, so what have these people been listening to cos even the most basic of hip hop tracks has some kinda vibe to it which these dont. im baffled.

But having said that if it puts clothes on your back, a roof over your head and food on the table then that can only be seen as a plus. Doesnt by any means qualify u as a "good music producer" infact it would be more fitting to call yourself a business man.

peace, mr hevee, heavi, heavy.

True you can't have day without night, and the same goes for the clean and the grime. But at this present time it's all about the grimey beats, some of these grimey tunes are 'crap', and some are 'heavy', thats just the way it is with all genre's of music.

Question who is the better producer, and why ?

1. Guy who makes quality beats, and sells 2000 Units ?

OR

2. Guy who makes playstation beats, and sells 10000 Units ?

As a producer I dont believe anyone makes a tune, to make a quick buck. I believe producers make tunes to rock and fill the dancefloor, and if a quick buck follows then so be it.
A producer has no idea or control of who is going to feel and buy his records, or who is going to diss and hate his tunes.

The only way a producer knows if he/she is successful is by record sales(Units shifted).............................

what an absolute pile of steamy hot $$$$ u are talking, there are many producers who make music because that gives them great pleasure, but, on the other hand there are equally as many if not more who make tunes for a certain market just to make money. at the end of the day the music business is just that a business, look at the cheeky girls your telling me they got signed up because the record company just loved their sweet faces, dont be such a neive ####, they were signed up because they've a gimmic that will make money.

example wiley cat has got to the point where he is big enough to bang out any old $$$$ and because of his status people will strongy consider buying his tunes over som1 who has made an tune of the same quality (if u can call it that) but is a up and coming.
roll deep, so solid and peeps like that openly addmit that they started doing garage because they saw it as a way to make money and move to bigger things ie, hip hop.

what u dont seem to get is that, there are some talented people out there and im not talking about producers im talking about business men and women who can stop a money making opotunity a mile off.

another example pop stars the rivals, dont try and tell me that was a event to search and find young up an coming artist's and promote fresh music from talented musicans. thats why they all sung covers everyweek. it was a stunt to get media attention, the whole fact it was on tv was gonna make it sell "units." battling it out for the christmas no1 spot, come on now, $$$$ing hell.

oh yeah and to the person who said i was a hater, thats some boy talk right there, how can i be hating if im just expressing my opinion, i never said the tunes were $$$$ i just said "I" meaning "ME" (if that isnt clear enough to u) am not feeling them and will not be purchasing them. simple. not everyones gonna like everything are they.

cha.

Nah mate, you cant compare Pop music to Garage, Pop is visual and Garage is music. I can't see a producer saying, i'm going to make a tune to make money, they make tunes to rock dancefloors first. How can you expect to make money, without some serious thought of how your going to compile the tune. How can you make money if you don't sell records, therefore if you sell alot of records, you must have made a half decent tune.
By the way who is not in it for the money, one way or another................................
