Default Oldskool Style hiphop (*** remix) while I await hardware for oldskool ukg

Bla Bla, Ill keep it brief. I wanna make oldskool style ukg (4/4, 2step, speed) when I get the hardware that I need to recreate most of their sounds, but thats a long time off so I been experimenting with making some oldskool stylish mono shuffley punchy 1994 hiphop (notice how most nuskool hiphop isnt punchy or shuffley? D'oh). Im using software at the moment, cos its all I have.

Sorry/Appreciate your rhodes chorded stabs FatZed, and Ive tried to use them in my oldskool style ukg stuff, but when it comes to making o'ukg, I really wanna make my own chords, which can sync - in key - to bass/other leads etc, and not be limited to C3 and nearby. I will want perfect harmonies, however, for this quick lil joke, I didnt care about that.

Theres a lot wrong with this (bass clips altho it WASNT when I exported, out of keyness, unproperly mixeddown, bla bla), most of which I noticed once I exported it out of Reason, but heyho, I dont care, I just made it in a few hours cos I just HAD to do SOMETHING - waiting for hardware is killing me (I need £1,000 for a Korg or something).

So here it is, a surprise remix. The break is oldskool hiphopesque but I added more layers, and kinda took the "1993" out of it, somewhat.

The link is on this page, to a 4.5mb mp3 128k stereo.

[Dont care what you say Fastlance, HH is better shuffled. Just like UKG. ]

Easy mate. You should use soundfonts. You can chord them, move them around the keyboard without them sounding funny etc

I didnt discover them that long ago, but they are 10x better than samples. Obviously not as good as hardware, but come pretty close.

I'll give some feedback on your track later (can't at the moment - i'm at work with a c*nt of a boss)
