Darkstar

that's some messy samplage. clean it up cause that'll just stick out like a sore thumb come mastering...you'll raise up the level of that washy noise floor and it'll kill the mix.

Take the reverb off the drum kit - sounds very 80s and not very criss

the secondary bass sound is too sharpish (not pitch, but in filter character) - dull it down and maybe add a delay and it may sound a little more dubby (which I would like)

The main repetitive bass is nice tho...very punchy!

I will also agree with Sarki on that, but the tune, lowing the genre, is pretty pumping.

Ok guys, cheers for the feedback - but totally and honestly this tune took 10 minutes, if you want to hear a real proper mix, wait a couple a weeks and i'll master it and everything !

I just posted it more as a laugh than anything else.

HOWEVER....

In the state the tune is in at present, It still got reloaded 5 times on my show on 2GFM on Monday evening.

I'm not really looking at the quality or if this is Garage or not, all I know is if this got played in a club it would tear the place down(in a good way). I loved the original, and I now like this version nuff. Darkstar be proud of this remix, I know for a fact that if you got permission to release this, you woulsd shift a few thousand units easily.

By the way everyone surely knows that Garage has joined forces with Breakbeat, Pulse X is a breakbeat track, so anyone that says "this ain't Garage", is stating the obvious. Breakbeat is here to stay and soon to take over,

I dont reallly produce much now really

but anyway i just dont like the whole break beat thing and the way garage has gone to be honest.

but like i can tell that dj zinc -138 trek is way better than things like pulse x and dj wire beleive me etc..

just aint feelin stuff like i used to .

I know eactly what your saying, I entered Garage 5 years ago and i'm a mature cluuber. I liked tunes like "catch the feelin", "Hype Funk" and "Sugar Daddy", all these new breaks tune are the new angle of Garage. I must admit tunes are getting very basic these days, but as the sayin goes, you dont have to shout, to be heard.

Thanks very much Silo - you're looking at the tune the same way i was looking at it - This is a tune that will blatantly sell whether you like it or not.

Obviously it won't be for sale unless it's approved by the mob, but i make tunes that will sell, not tunes that nobody wants.

Truss me the music business is built on, not how good you are at producing, but if you can shift units, simple. keep it up!

I would just like to point out that pulse x is in no say shape or form breakbeat! at most it can be classified as 2 step.

Nice remix - not really feeling it personally but I hate the original and all tunes like that.

In my opinion bline tunes should have funk and energy not repetative monotonous loops

I thought this might be right up your street stylus, being a zincish producer, I guess not. I think Pulse X is blatant Breakbeat, or if you want me to show my true age, Electro.
You guys should go to the second hand record shops, and pick up some of the Electro Albums, If you listen to them you'll notice how relevant they are to todays breaks and beats.
P.s I was born on Electro(early Hiphop)

all my breakbeat influences come from jungle and old skool hardcore - to me pusle x is just a beat and a few bass notes

Thats exactly what it is, but it's very effective, as you will probably know. Most people who go ravin dont produce, so for them to like this tune it must be more than just a couple of beats strung together. When the intro comes in, it's time to show your moves on the dancefloor.
Dj Zincs "hello" has no better concept than Pulse X.
