Default my entry into the "just a little" fray...

Kinda half assed done

I'd actually be more into a 4/4 of this, but I don't like the chorus...love the verses though.

Feedback would be grand. I'm trying to think of ways to spice this up. As it is, it's pretty standard...drums, bline, chords, lead guitarpluckything. Nothing smackin' you in the face yet...I haven't found that sound yet to make me stand up and say "that'd fit perfectly!"

Anyway, give it a listen, and let me know. Some of the speeds may be a bit off...103.1>136 was the compression factor, but now it seems like some of the lyrics are running a little behind...it's close though...I could clean it up, but I'm a lazy git sometimes (like at 2:20 am)

It's on the dubby side, so I may work that angle a bit more. The mix also may have too much "used space".

the vocals are excellent. they kinda smack u in the face. not particularly behind to my knowledge.

didn't really realise a b-line in there, good beats.

very nice tune.

Well, that's cause they weren't done by me haha

Thank Liberty X for the vocals!

The bline is there...it's just a really subby dubby one, and it's hard to hear on small rigs/computer speakers...I'm gonna have to work on that...3 people already have said "Is there a bassline?"

Thanks anon.

Sen,

OK, RA doesn't really do this justice - i can just about sense some kind of depth charge bass under all that pinning down the track! But for me the little countermelody/arpeggio type element is a revelation - some unexpected chord progressions there and the sound is wicked! Louder in the mix please!

drums rollin, love the dubbed out fills.

eagerly awaiting the dub mix..

hehe a dub mix would actually be more my style...I love vocals, but full ones are just uncreative (imo from a remix standpoint)...

Who knows? If I have time this week, maybe I'll do a cut n play of it...

I'll defo see about upping the bline...that's the hardest part right now...I'm going to have to clear out some headroom...

The drums are blistering. I feel the bass, but it's tuned a little too low to really make out the melodic aspects of it. The mini breakdown at 2:40 where it's just drums and vocals are where it's at, though. Maybe you could just sprinkle the things like chords and bass in at select times, arrangement-wise, to make everything a little less crowded. My quick efforts also seem crowded. Mine aren't even worth the overseas postage, so you're waaaaaay ahead of my mix. Bottom line, for me, is find a way to feature the drums more. Oh, yeah, it seems fairly mono, too. Maybe you can spread things out more.

definitely feel your feedback papa...will be weeding out the garden tonight I think.

It's really mono...I save stereo seperation for the last thing usually...I haven't even eq seperated everything yet...or spatially.

To my tired ears, it sounds like everything is still shoved in the same cubby hole: eq, panning, and temporially - everything but pitch, which you can't hear on the bline...

Let me work all of that out and see if it'll be worth the postage...I'm gonna dump each instrument/instrument set through a parametric to really isolate frequencies I think. Too cloudy at the mo.

I think that's the deal...it's much more of a feely bass than a heary bass, if ya get me...

I'm thinkin of layering a tone on top of the subby part just so it's a little more implicit..."THIS IS THE BASS SOUND"

haha

Thanks PC, AD...

It's my ultra patented stealth bass

Won't know it till it hits you.

And by then, it's too late haha

Nice intro, I could hear the bline a little bit, doesn't help with this crap speakers I have on my laptop, and the fact that it's a Realplayer file. The beats are kicking, the lil' breaks here and there works! All in all, solid production! Looking forward for your final version.

Listening through my Sony MDR-V700 Headphones and I can more than feel the bass - my headphones are practically jumping off my head - the bass overpowers the tune actually.

I like the the chords and little effects running through the track - they work well with the vocals - the vocals are really crap though - I don't mean your mix of them - just the vocals are dry altogether

Cheers Frankie, Gaby, Stylus. Final version to be done before Friday as I want to get it in the Mail before too late...stupid No-electronic-format-entry rules...makes it really tough for overseas entries...or maybe that was their cunning plan?

Re: the Bline - I may never win this battle it kills the mix in the cans yeah, Stylus? Crap. I never monitor with headphones on...I'm going to have to listen and see if it's wrecking shop too much...

will be doing some vocal work and some crate digging to find some nice little accents to use here...I may have to really do some work on that bass tho...crap
