There's a saying in the business world...

Don't beat your boss at golf.

(or something like that)

Oh well, I can still use my instrumental on a new track.

Frankie P's mix destroys all of those as well.

Mine was pretty sweet too.

Xenophobes, all of 'em

Definitely. I said that in another post.

Yeah, but you were smart enough to have your back act up and not spend money on overseas shipping.

Xenophobes, all of 'em

I think I'm going to write Jo Roach an email and ask her/him why she gave me a street address for me to send a FedEx package if they weren't even going to open the package. I'm not saying my mix should have definitely made the final, but if mine didn't Frankie's sure of hell should have. At least there could have been an honorable mention / shout to the NA peeps who scalded mixes.

I tuned in on the show at around 6am... before they announced the finalists, the Dreem Teem played a couple of snippets of what they think was the "dogs" of the bunch. Around 7 of those mixes (which IMHO wasn't that different to the finalists) got some air time and they went on and criticized (constructive in a way but just enuff sarcasm to make the remixers turn red and feel ashamed) how bad they sounded. What's ironic 'bout it, the Dreem Teem was marveling the original mix earlier in the show and I think it's total pants compared to the finalists!
Booty, I wouldn't even bother to write. It's clear enuff that there was something fishy going on with that competition. I mean, they confirmed that there was around 2000 entries and I think half of the entries never got the listen it deserved. I agree, I remember 4 or 5 of the mixes here in the Patio was 101% times better than the finalists. But we could always take out the vocals and still use the track for something else in the future. Let's move on...

Frankie,

the fact that you got yourself up outta bed early on a Sunday morning to listen is EXACTLY why I feel the need to let Jo know that she/he let us down. Just say: "Sorry but UK only" instead of encoraging me (and through me, you) to send our $$$$ over.

The Original, r&B mix or the garage mix?

I agree something fishy in the land of fish and chips.

And, hell, yeah, I'll use parts of my mix for other ventures.

I actually have this wierd internal alarm clock in me that no matter how tired I am, I wake up 6am on the dot
Let us know the response from Jo... as for me, yeh, I actually went to FeDex twice (didn't have the correct addy at first) and I guess you're right, they should have said "UK only competition". If it wasn't, I couldn't believe not one NA mix got through.

They played the original (the James Bondy Annoying R&B Guitar Pluck Mix) and went on to congratulate the members of LibX for hitting the charts with it (did they really?). Hohum...

Yes all ukmusic.com crew I enterd the competition myself, and i'm surprised to not see my name or Bionicbootys mix. The truth is most of the entries never got listened to, the Dreemteeem are simply to busy to listen to everyones mix, and how boring would it be, even for yourselves.
I feel the competiition was run shaby, with no mention of a winner date, just leaving competitors to figure out when the winner wil be announced.
Let this be a lesson to all, it's not how good you are?, it's who you know? and the biggest one of all luck?, were you lucky enuff to have your track listened to.

I don't remember who all here did versions, but if you scour this forum from about 3 weeks ago, you'll find a bunch of blazing mixes - WAAAAAAAAY better that the "winners".

Nah...but I'll probably use a fair amount of it for a new bionic booty productions joint. Especially my Neptunes' rip off part.

Frankie,
I lost Jo's email addy, you still got it???
