| How to make a bassline with no equipment:
a) sample one using a CD audio extractor and a .wav editor - you can take just a bass note and use that in your sequencer / sampler to change the pitch so that it changes or sample the whole line, cut it up and reorder it
b) use a softsynth or noise generation program to make a bass sound yourself
It can all be done in software |

| paulyc, cole-z are you twins?
anyway, the song is okay...too much of the original tho...when you add the bassline, that may change things up more, but as it...too much like what it was to begin with...
If you can use either a) just the vocals or b) just the synth sounds, that may work better.
Both together just sounds like you threw a beat underneath it... |

#12 | | Guest | twins ... not unless one of my parents .... hmm ... nope
cheers for the comments. i will put a bassline with it shortly.
i wanna a keyboard that can make the bassline, so im thinking of getting the Yamaha PSR-350 which has ... quote...
"3.5"Floppy Disk Drive plays and Records your songs to disk in standard MIDI File format"
does that mean that i can get one small bass note and then load it on my keyboard and play a whole sequence as long as i know the key of the note?
plz help!! cos i wanna get a keyboard and i hav to hav one thats decent!! | |

| No that won't do that.
What that'll allow you to do is store sequences that you make on that keyboard so that you can call 'em up later.
If you want a good computer program to write bassline sounds with, try getting a hold of Reason or Reaktor or something like that.
What are you using to write with at the moment? |

| seriously? Unless you know how to play the keyboard (i.e. piano), you may be better off upgrading your computer.
Adding outboard gear to your rig may cost more than you think and may give you crap results depending on your sound card / midi interface.
Keep it all in the digital domain.
Oh, you can probably find a Cubase VST instrument to make your basslines with...like the ones found here: http://www.steinberg.net/products/i...03&sid=02497711
These are plugins that run in Cubase and will allow you to synthesize sounds / use drum samples / etc. and trigger them using the sequencer.
Now, again, the more plugins you run, the beefier your computer needs to be. |

| No, I'm a therapist who likes writing music. Yeah, I have a little project studio in my house. I've got a nice Mac with loads of software, digital audio interface, mixing boards, synths, samplers, turntables etc. etc. etc. |

| "....getting a hold of Reason..."
I've got it and it's wicked when you use it with Cubase. My A4000 is gathering dust at the moment. |
