Default DJ-Zinc - Kinda Funky (DJ-Stylus 4/4 remix Part 2)

Revamped a remix I did ages ago - Gotta funkier sorta feel to it and its a bit more hard hitting. Used a lot of new techniques I've learned since aswell to give it an overal better production quality

Sorry, but this is $$$$in heavy!... i would gladly buy this in the shop!... scrap the "kinda" from the name, and that describes this tune exactly!

Love the bassline on this one!... Stylus, you got the MP3?

obviously i prefer the original, but this is a nice little remix of a classic zinc toon. wasnt to sure about the bassline when it kicked in but i'am now nodding my head along to it. this track has a very catchy feel to it and in my eyes could easily sell and distrubute a couple of thousand units.

It's not bad, I'd definately make that kick lighter or use a different one, the sax is a nice touch but it's far too cluttered, you can't use the same hats and snares on a 4/4 beat despite your sampling.

However the bline is pure $$$$e, it's a miracle how you manage to ruin your tunes by just dumping some nex $$$$eness on it. Sorry but that's fairground music from drop onwards, sort it out and it maybe half decent.

Oh and a little word of advice - Bingo know you made a "remix" and were looking for you, so I suggest you keep it to yourself otherwise you may get a visit from some irate people...

yeah - wicked, if you used the same bass pattern and sample, just changed it up, this tune would blow !!!

love the 4x4 beats.

I dig it. I think if you used a deeper instrument for the bassline it could be improved a little bit, but I really like the beat you put behind it and thew breakdowns. Really dig the little sax line thrown in there...got a 70's funk flavour to it.

Anyway, if you wanna add me to that mp3 mailing list, I'll play it on a sunday sometime and see what kind of reception it gets...

finally got a chance to listen to it - like the pitching of the drums...

Bassline pattern/note is nice but too much rezziness - dull it a shade and add a marimba or organ folowing the same pattern for a wideboyish stylee - that may add to it (or not) you'd have to try. If not, at least modulate the rez/cutoff of your bass sound over the pattern...it's kinda grating on the air.

Interesting.

If you take out the sampled zinc stuff, what's it sound like? I'm sure you could fit other stuff in the section and make an even better song.

the hornz kill it tho! my fav part of the mix.

Drum pattern's ok.
