Default Booker Sen??

LOL, here's a little US vocal + UK style beats + Canadian um...whatever...

Lemme know what you think...It sounds housey, but isn't really 4/4...who knows?

those vocals r wicked.

thats a nice catchy little melody aswell

beats r kinda wierd i agree, but they're nice, nice variation etc..

bass i dont think suits its that well, but still sounds ok.

Love the beat you dont hear too much of those wet sounding drums in house and garage any more.

like the vocal and youve chopped it up well

on a first listen that synth part did sound a bit euro-pop but its grown on me by the second

cant really comment on the bass as im listening on headphones

really like it though good work nice to see others still putting stuff like this out

well done

Love that little melody, reminiscent of Crystal Waters. Beat is a bit dodge tho, definately not sure about that breakdown. Needs more elements really, give it a guitra, synth, strings etc. to really old skool it up. Vocals are wicked too. I'd also say keep it 4/4, got a rolling potential.

Tril, that's exactly what I thought - Crystal Waters

The breakdown was the last thing I did on it, so I probably wasn't thinking straight.

I'll think about what other elements I can put in there without things going over the top and getting too cluttered...maybe I'll make try some 4/4 beats with it as well...

Cheers again for the comments.

Chords are heavy, vocals are heavy. To me the beat sounds like a poor mans USL - making love. A nice shuffled 4/4 beat would suit this much more I think.
The actual bass sounds is nice, got the late 99' sound to it - I'm not overly keen on the pattern though.

Still nice sounding overall - I'd much rather listen to this than any 8 bar rubbish

I'm not feeling the lead vocal. I like the chorus gang vocal a lot, though. Like you said, there seems to be a lack of direction in the overall sound. Don't know exactly what it needs to pull it together, not sure about 4/4 throughout...

Wish I could be more help, but I just don't have alot of suggestions.

Thanks stylus, booty.

Yeah...I'm getting interesting feedback on this one.

I think a little rearranging of the bits and pieces is in order (haha) to space elements out.

The overall sound seems to be missing cohesiveness...it's sorta all over the place...the core idea is good, but the execution of it isn't as tight as I'd like it. some more elements maybe and a tightening of the whole thing in general. and some variation, cause it's a bit samey at the mo.

THe bass line, I'm thinking something a bit more wookie?

Stylus, got a link to USL - Making love - anywhere online? I don't know if I've ever heard it to compare. I'm listening to the mix right now and thinking I need to re-eq the whole bloody thing.

I kinda like the lead vocal! It's like uber-gospel

You should hear the rest of the vocals...seriously, I only use like 1.5 minutes of a 5 minute song the rest is very very baaad...in a bad way.

Come on Papa...ideas man, ideas!

Tril, I'm thinking of adding some strings/pads...will attempt that tomorrow if I'm up to it.

I'm kinda happy with beat in some ways. It's got something to it
that's just different. Dodgy maybe, but it's all mine I think the pitching of the drums could be upped a bit to tighten things up a bit...

BARING IN MIND CRAP PC SOUNDCARD AND 20K REALSTREAM:

break: confused and leaving me baffled. did u know what u wanted to acheive. sounds like u went from randomness to randomness+1. after the drop, the break is so faded out and behind the mix; it wud sound so much better if it werent so drowned out.

bass: has a lil oldskool feel there. i think the riff is aight for a vocal track cos the vox supports it.

chords: totally gypsey woman, gave the song a USG 94 feel when it had the 4/4 in.

vox: like the voxing and overlayering, Im trying to get that nailed. It aint working. the gospel is a bit too heavysounding. i think voxes are better for dance music in solo, not whole choirs, usually. The vox overpowered the tune. u compress it too 1million % or suttin???

arrangement: was kinda ok. needs a defined breakdown; the tune is so full on, that its needs a FULL OFF breakdown for a ear-rest.

track sounds well done. i got no tips cos I aint good yet.
