| Announcement - REMIX Contest Alrighty, we're going to start the remix contest as of today!
I'm giving you two weeks (so, end date of Saturday, January 12th. 2002) to do your best to remix Girlstown in a UK Garage Stylee.
Here's the acapella - it's zipped (2.4 megs) and in MP3 format, already cut up in small sections. Click to Download the Acapella
Judges will be me, JJ, and DC
Prizes to be announced soon!
When you're done your final remix, post 'em up in the Audio Patio. Only Web submissions please in RealAudio or MP3 |

| FYI all who wish to take part in this...using the Acapella can be done in a dubwise stylee...like just taking hits/phrases whatever...
Don't have to use the whole vocal a la JJ...just use what comes naturally to you, as long as you use some part(s) of it in your song...
Of course, the more you use, the better.
Also, JJ pitched it up from 94 to whatever it is now (136ish?)
What if you pitched it down to 68 instead? that would be halftime...
anyway, give it shot Deceptekahn. Should be fun! |

timestretching to a slower tempo will technicly sound worst than TS'ing to a faster tempo, but the feel might be better, i would like to hear a version like this. | |

| Yeah, JJ...you're right...prolly end up with a very jungle-ish breakdown sounding vocal - nothing you want for the whole thing... |

| question regarding posting... erm, i am having a difficult time finding somewhere to host the mp3.. can i send it to you sen? also should we all wait until the day of the deadline to post our mixes so as to not discourage anyone who hasnt finished yet? i was going to post mine but then i thought, not only might it discourage entries, someone may nick ideas from it ;p

| Good Idea J...i think Jess' mix already scared off the timid tho
Yeah, anyone who can't host their own stuff, mail me the .mp3 or .ra file and I'll stick it somewhere...though Jess says my linkup is dog slow from the UK... |
