Default A couple of bits from me » Your Opinions please!

Easy,

managed to get RealProducer yesterday, so i thought i would try it out, and encode some of my own tunes... Please have a listen, and gimme some constructive critism please!

a 4/4 Tune
a breakbeat dub rmx of 187 Lockdown - Gunman
a 4/4 Tune rmx of "Renegade Master"... Does the break work?
a bit of an experiment here. House music
a 4/4 Bassline tune with MC
- Should i carry on with this?... personally, i think its a bit poor!

Feedback welcome!

I'm not really a 4/4 man so I skipped them - listening to the gunman remix.

Ooooooh Amen breaks

Sounds nice up to the drop but then it doesn't right. I don't know what it is but it doesn't sound right - it sounds too fruity loops. Not that there's amnything wrong with fruity - it doesn't sound right. Maybe try compressing it or something.

Apart from that the bass is pretty good. I would suggest adding more hats to the beat to make it roll and myabe just some more sounds and sweeps to fill it out a bit more

write writing as im listening

1st tune (4/4 one) - like the intro its good im personally not keen on the actual instrument you have used that comes in a bit before the drop - the actual chords you have used are good but that the noise isn't so change that mate - the drop is cool and im feeling the bass, the only thing is it gets a bit repetitive so u may wana add sumin in there - the breakdown is good - works very well and afta that the bass is good - id giv ethis tune 6.5/10 its well made and the beat is all good just need to touch up a bit hear and there - i think a good vocal hook would b good

second tune i think is again well made the bass is funky and i like the notes not so sure on the noise but it may be popular - this tune has better variation but i prefer the first u should use more of the 187 samples like the bo salecta's etc. cos they will add more interestin bits to the tune 6/10

renegade master - is all good im feelin the intro its heavy and works very well - the drop is well good - like it when the tune comes back in and i personally think the break does work so big up i'd give this tune 7/10 its all good!!

the house tune i was glad to listen to as its a nice change afta everything being garage which i like but u know house was a nice change - the intro is cool mayb a little long but that can be cut down, the drop is quite cool and the chordas work well - the only thing is you may need to add a bit more bass but its good mate apart from that 6.5/10

the link to the mc one didnt work im afraid os couldnt check it

the last has a cool beat and i like the intro - u definately have that sorted u may need to add sumin wen the chords are on their own and that noise that comes on at the end of every 8th bar on the intro and then every 4th after the drop needs to b less prominent but the bass is cool so i giv ya 6.5/10

so mate my ratings may seem low but dont b discouraged they just need little adjustments to be higher marks and i am markin them as if they were a tune i was contemplating buying - and that needs to be a least an 8 for me to buy it

keep workin on them and just touch them up a bit

if i was you i'd put them 4 garage ones i heard on an e.p afta u've touched them up as they are tunes that would sell beta together than on their own - ok mate

big up tho all ur productions sound professional so respect mate

Ego-B... cheers for your feedback... i know that Gunman dub sounds a bit off!... i think its the bassline which needs a lot of work on it!

Solo... once again, cheers for the feedback...

Tune 1 : What instrument is it you dont like? is it the rhode?.. or the chord? and i know the tunes nuff repetative!... needs a lot of work in there to get it up to scratch!

Tune 2 : i dont really like the Bline on this one... but ill fiddle with it, see what else i can sort out... and ill also chuck in some more samples...

Tune 3 : Boo!... everyone likes this one so far!

Tune 4 : Glad you liked the House one.. i need to work on the bassline on that one.. cos at the moment, the bass note is a very bassy kick ..lol!

Tune 5 : The MCin was recorded from a Set... he was Mcin round my house while my mate was DJin, and i just started recording.. then laid the vocals over the track... still waitin for the MC to come back and re-record the vocals.. so ill try and sort out a chorus as well!

Tune 6 : Ill take your comments on board and fiddle with the tune!

Cheers for the feedback so far!... much appreciated!

I dont like the first three

these are all promising, 1 is fresh and a really nice loop, have to borrow it sometime

the 4/4 bassline sounds pretty good although its not my cup of tea, it does have the right sound about it.

and if you just use the intro more on the last one .. thats proper swanky bar music

Tune 1 (4/4 Tune) - Im Feeling the blend on this, I like the rhodes, tune reminds me of something but cant think of what it is, hmmmm

Tune 2 (breakbeat dub rmx of 187 Lockdown - Gunman) - I Like the tune theres nothing wrong with it, except for the fact you just get bored, needs something to spice it up

Tune 3 (4/4 Tune rmx of "Renegade Master") - Break does it work? Yes, I dont really appreciate 4/4 songs, but this tune is decent, I could bubble to this

Tune 4 (bit of an experiment here. House music) - No long ting, I hate House Music, and I hate your song as a house song, so I guess your song is a good house song, if u get me

Tune 5 (4/4 Bassline tune with MC) - I love the B-line, MC flows well, I heard someone talk about a chorus on this song, me personally I dont know how you would do that, if anything just have pauses and variate the base a bit. But a chorus would change the whole song to a more commercial thing, while without one it has a underground feel........

Overall you're a decent producer, I like your stuff
