Default 4x4 dub - Unite

New 4x4 dubstyle tune in the works ...

http://www.boosted.com/Unite.ram

Any comments? What needs to stay and what needs to be cut? Too minimal? Too much vocals? Hmmmmmmm?

Thanks,
Toby

nice intro build up however i think its missing something dunno what though it just sounds a tad bit empty

The Vocal cuts do break it up a bit, however im not really feelin them, but they could grow on me

Beats r nice/flow well through out the track

The filtering is nice also

The track overall is nice, and produced well however after about 3+ mins it was getting borin yah know bro, i think you should inject some energy into this track, cos its basicly there it just needs that little xtra somethin and bo selecta

6/10

bigg it upp

Sounds heavily dancehall inspired - got some nice reggae guitar sounds, maybe try adding a few ragga vocals aswell?
Bass is nice but its got some weird underwater kinda effect on it - would like to hear some mid-range in the bass at some point in the track.

Its original though - somthing which you don't see much of these days; just boring 8 bar dance ejay tunes - so biggup!

Thanks for the criticism ... all well taken. Yeah, I agree it needs something, perhaps some more vocals on top or some kind of flute or strings doing a melody. I think I'll play with some strings since I want to keep it a dubby track and don't really have any vocals that would flow with it. I'll also try tweaking the bass a bit more. Now, how to inject more energy ... hmmmm. I know what you mean, but gotta figure out how to do it

Thanks for listening!

very dubby which I usually like but this is kinda flat. It needs more variation, and drop out the bass sometimes. The bass itself is very weird. Sounds like an underwater bass. I liked the basses bubbliness but it doesnt really suit what ur doing.

Are you using some elses loops? It sounds like it. This isnt urs at all. The break is too acoustic.

It's not too bad - but it sounds v.empty !!

Put a bit more percussion in it and make swing a bit more bro !!

Sounds more like a house track than UK G right now - which anit a bad thing .

The only loop used is the bass, although it's a cut up and edited piece from some old 70's dub record I have, not a rip-off if that's what you're implying djaguk. Everything else is sampled and sequenced ... all original beatwork and programming.

The underwater effect you all mention is a result of the resonence filter I'm using on the bassloop ... still need to tweak that I guess.

And yeah ... I'd prefer it to be more deephouse than UKG ... same reason I'm hesitating to add more percussion and vocals, although dropping out the bass more often is a good idea and I've been thinking about doing the. Version 2 soon come.
