Very nice indeed, both mixes are good, I prefer the 4*4 mix, even tho im into 2Step/Breakbeat. The 4*4 has a summer feel to it, which makes it very pleasant to listen to. Keep up the good work, you should be proud of your re-workings.
Im entering the comp myself, from what i have already heard on this site, I feel I have fierce competitors, to compete against.
Good luck to all the producers entering the competition

Ok...I like the beat to the first BUT the vocals where a bit shakey. Sometimes they matched up and sometimes they were a bit behind and sounded like they were running to keep up. But it is a good beat just clean up the vocals.

Now the second...Im feeling it. I liked the beat and the vocals went with it very well..no running in this one. Sounds like they are singing in the shower...but you clean that up Im sure. All in all, the second is my favourite. Hope I helped you a bit! Lata...

yea cheers for the feedback people

the timing on the first track vocal wise is caused by trying to produce a tune with headphones for long periods of time(owing to a young babe in the house)4.4 timing is far easier on tired ears
Well thats my excuse and I,m sticking with it.. lol
Anyway ta for the comments... They all help

Not really feeling the kick on the first one - its a bit too deep - in the sequence you've used it sounds a bit like gotta get through this. Apart from that the beats are phat! really the chords and little sfx. Not really keen on the vocal but as I've said I don't like the vocal at all so I wouldn't feel it in any mix

Can't get the 2nd one to work

Listening to the 2nd one now - got an almost disco kinda feel to it with the conga type percussion. Intro could to with being a bit longer but allow that.

Vocals sound go well with the track. Like the minimal kinda bassline and the little disco type stabs. Maybe try a bit of filtering in places aswell

I much prefer this to the other one

on the first one

beats aint bad, the vocal sounds really out of time, what you usin to stretch them in time? they need to be cut better / structured.

overall yeah not really my kind of thing, like the little stabby sounds

2nd one
I think this would probably be more your style of producer cause I get the feeling that its alot better than 1st just by the first few bars

the bit "innocent" vocal sounds a tad dodgy

not bad though I like it!

Overall there's a lot to like in both tracks, and both have many of the same issues. The writing and the sounds are both brilliant. The "sync" of everything seems to be a little off - though the second one is more solid, and the mixing/engineering is not quite professional grade. Artistically you're heading in a very good direction, it's the technical side that is falling behind.

Like the vibe alot, though.

I wish I had some advice to give as far as the technical side. There are so many ways to get a solid sound. To me the basics are...make your levels nice and hot, keep an ear for unwanted distortion, and "mix as you go." In other words, if it sounds like $$$$ when your recording it, you'll have a hard time when it comes to mix.
