Nathan, one of the UK's most promising new male R&B vocalists is setting out to make his official come back with the release of his new album. His current video ‘cold as ice' is currently rotating its way onto our screens. Nathan, who shot to armature stardom with the release of his first single ‘come into my room', is yet to leave his official mark on the music industry. I've just finished the video for ‘cold as ice' says Nathan. ‘I'm just promoting the new single and have got my new album ‘Masterpiece' coming out in October this year'. Being the son of Raggae star Lorna Gee certainly has its benefits and has allowed Nathan to inherit his musical genes which gave him the peddle-stool he needed to help him write his own lyrics. ‘Recording the new album has given me confidence and was one of the best experiences of my life. Writing all of my songs has given me the ability to become a proper artist and also a high class perfectionist. I will sing a line over and over until it is perfect which shows the kind of hard work and determination that has gone into the making of this album'.
His recent performance in Ibiza has also allowed the young star to promote his music abroad, interacting with the different cultures and types of music which exist world-wide. ‘Ibiza was off the chain! I still can't forget my performance in club ‘Pacah'. It is one of the best nightclubs I have ever seen and was a real pleasure to perform there'. With ‘cold as ice' still hitting our screens, it is no wonder that this R&B artist is making direct movements in the scene. The new single ‘Cold as ice' was inspired by ‘a girl that I was working with who I liked but unfortunately had a boyfriend that was also a close friend of mine. It was actually influenced by a lot of situations where she acted like she wanted me but I know I couldn't do anything as I was limited hence the words ‘I can look but not touch'. Cold as ice was based on that story and is the whole reason why I wrote that song'.
After the release of his debut single ‘Come Into My Room' Nathan took a year out of the spotlight to work on developing as an artist, his song writing and putting together his debut album. ‘I was recording my album without a deal which is why I knew the next thing I had to release needed to be perfect. I took my time with this album as I wanted it to reach a professional level. I was writing all my own songs at the time and didn't want my music to be associated with the same stuff you may see on Channel U which is why I took my time'. Nathan is also rumoured to have signed a sponsorship deal with an international sportswear brand. ‘PUMA'! He shouts out as he grabs the sportswear logo from his jacket and points it at my direction. ‘I have my own designer who hooks me up with the latest in designer wear. I'm actually hoping to set my own trend and am trying to promote the brand as much as I can. Big up Puma'!
‘Life has changed very dramatically after the release of my first track' says Nathan. ‘Every time a fan walks past, they can't help but shout "Oi Nathan, come into my room". Life has certainly become more hectic after that. A real rollercoaster ride. It's all good though. I love the ladies'.
Anyone you'd like to big up?
'Yeah! I just want to say a special thanks to the people who have waited and still believed. I want to say a big thanks to South London and big up all my Forest Hill boys and of course my family'.
The wait is over. The artist has come of age and the 'Masterpiece' is ready to be unveiled so make sure you catch the album when it hits the UK shelves this year.
