Welcome to the next level, ladies and gentlemen. Oliver Lang licensed his first track at 15; was offered a residency at Pacha on mainland Spain one summer but had to turn it down because he was 16 and had to go back to school; went to Ibiza with a box of records at the age of 18 and in the six summers since has played everywhere from Amnesia to Privilege to Space. And if you bounced around a dancefloor to the hugely popular Pink bootleg called Pink George, it was Oliver's. But you didn't hear that from me... all right...
Yep, it's all starting to come together in a disco supernova. At the end of last year Oli played his first gigs for Godskitchen and for Defected at Ministry of Sound. He's played in Moscow twice in the last couple of weeks (to a combined total of 5000 people) and is a regular in countries like Holland and Norway, all of which was recognised by Mixmag when they chose him to be a Future Hero in the January 2004 issue, writing "Oliver's funky house sets blew Ibiza away in summer 2003".
Some of Mr Lang's upcoming gigs:
Aruba, Middlesborough- De Fillet, Moscow The White Party, Cologne Hollywood, Estonia Funkissential, Leeds Miss Moneypenny's, Birmingham
In terms of his production, Oliver is back in the studio making the sort of chunky house music of the quality that saw the likes of Judge Jules spin Pink George on Radio One - expect vinyl on a deck near you in March...
