So, why the name change? Então, por que mudar o nome?

Mike: Well, we’ve always wanted to come up with a name that summed us up and sort of believe that band names have just got to hit you. It hasn’t up until very recently so we went with Mike Rosenberg Band which a sort of working title. Não se conseguiu, até muito recentemente, por isso, foi com Mike Rosenberg Band que uma espécie de título de trabalho.   When Passenger came up it just seemed to tick the boxes so yeah, that’s really the reason. So it’s not like a re-branding of the band? Portanto, não é como um re-branding da banda?

Andrew: No, more of a development really. Andrew: Não, mais de um desenvolvimento verdadeiramente.   I think it’s just more of the main catch of what we were trying to do anyway. Acho que é só mais das capturas principais daquilo que estávamos a tentar fazer o mesmo.   It’s not like we’ve taken a radical left turn. Não é como nós temos tido uma radical vire à esquerda. I mean we’re still playing the same songs and we’re still writing the same way, but we just feel that the name puts it across to people better and gives them a little flavour of what we’re trying to do. Quero dizer que estamos ainda a tocar a mesma música e ainda estamos escrevendo o mesmo caminho, mas nós entendemos que só o nome que o põe toda a gente melhor e dá-lhes um pouco de sabor daquilo que nós estamos tentando fazer.

Tell us about your new single Wicked Man’s Rest. Conte-nos sobre o seu novo single Wicked Man's Rest.

Mike: We sort of wrote it about two years ago probably. Mike: Nós espécie de escrevi há cerca de dois anos atrás provavelmente. It took a long while for it to become what it is now. Demorou um tempo para se tornar o que é agora.   I think it’sa really good introduction to what we do. Eu realmente acho que é uma boa introdução para o que fazemos. I’m really pleased with the lyrics, and as for the musical side of things, it’sa cross breed between acoustic, folky music and electronica and sort of more hip hop beats. Estou muito satisfeito com as letras, e que para o lado musical das coisas, é uma raça cruzada entre acústica, música e folky espécie de electro e hip hop mais batidas. I think it really works as a taster of what to expect from us. Acho que ele realmente funciona como um provador de saber o que esperam de nós.

How do you think you fit into the current music scene? Como acha que se inserem no atual cenário musical?

Andrew: I think we’re all about taking classic song forms really. Andrew: Acho que todos nós estamos tendo sobre música clássica faz realmente. We’re all about our songs, we’re all about songwriting, but we’re also taking acoustic, folky, if you like, song tradition and making it really contemporary. Estamos todos sobre as nossas músicas, estamos fazendo tudo sobre songwriting, mas estamos tendo também acústico, folky, se quiser, canção tradição e torná-la realidade contemporânea.   So I suppose the bands that we really like are bands like Turin Brakes and Tuung and people like that who are looking and just making them really modern and just seeing how traditional songwriting stands up in today’s world. So which songwriters are you rating at the moment? Então o que você rating songwriters estão neste momento?

Mike: I’ve been listening to a guy called Beiruts which I’m really getting into. Mike: Eu já passei a ouvir um cara chamado Beiruts quais eu realmente comecei a mexer. I think he’s from New York, but it’s sort of kind of gypsy, orchestra kind of thing. Acho que ele é de Nova York, mas é o tipo de espécie de etnia cigana, orquestra tipo de coisa. Really, really interesting stuff. Realmente, coisas realmente interessantes. There’s so much fantastic song writing out there at the moment. Há tanta fantástica canção escrita por aí, neste momento.

Andrew: We listen to a lot of stuff that perhaps isn’t what you would call songwriting, obvious songwriting stuff, like we listen to a lot of electronica stuff, but it’s still great music or great songs but they might not be verse chorus, ordinary songs that you would recognise. Andrew: Estamos a ouvir um monte de coisas que talvez não seja o que poria songwriting, songwriting coisas óbvias, como estamos a ouvir um monte de coisas electro, mas ainda é muito grande música ou grandes canções, mas eles poderiam não ser versículo coro, ordinárias músicas que você ia reconhecer.   We listen to Tuung a lot, Bat For Lashes, who’s another Brighton artist. Ouvimos a Tuung um lote, Bat Para chicotadas, que é outro artista Brighton. She’sa great songwriter but also great sound, great mood. She'sa grande compositora, mas também bom som, ótimo humor.

Do you think the current music scene is healthy then? Você acha que o atual cenário musical está saudável, então?

Mike: Yeah definitely, certainly parts of it. Mike: Sim definitivamente, certamente partes dele. Since Myspace, in the last couple of years there seems to be an awful lot of new music around, very accessible, that we listen to. Desde Myspace, no último par de anos, não parece existir uma enorme quantidade de novas músicas ao redor, muito acessível, que nos ouçam.   So yeah, the music scene today is massive and brilliant. Andrew: I think we’re al talking to each other like never before as, especially over here. Andrew: Acho que estamos al fala para si como nunca antes como, sobretudo para cá. I think there’sa really interesting crossover of producers and songwriters working together and different music traditions being blended and I think that’s really exciting. Mike: I think pop had sort of taken over in the ‘90s a little bit. Mike: Eu acho que espécie de pop tinha retomado na anos'90 um pouco.   It’s good to see now that there is a lot more guitar music, bands and proper songwriting emerging. É bom ver que agora há muito mais a guitarra música, bandas e bom songwriting emergentes.   I think Myspace, that whole thing has really changed that. What was your most nerve wracking moment then? Qual foi o seu momento mais nervo wracking então?

Andrew: Oh it’s always when things go wrong at gigs really. Andrew: Ah, semper quando as coisas correm mal na gigs realmente.   It’s always the same old stuff, like somebody’s gear packs up or the microphone stops working or something falls over. É semper as mesmas coisas velhas, que alguém da arte de embalagens para cima ou para o microfone deixou de funcionar ou algo mais quedas.   The last on stage catastrophe was last night when the keyboard player’s lap top packed up just at the start of the song, but you just get used to carrying on. A última etapa de catástrofe foi ontem à noite quando o teclado do jogador lambida topo embalado para cima apenas no início da canção, mas que acabou de se habituar a exercer a.   I don’t think anybody else would notice to be honest, but it’s just something you get used to in this job. Eu não acho que ninguém ia notar a ser honesto, mas é só uma coisa em que você se acostumar com este trabalho.   That’s the thrill of it as well, that things might go wrong but they might also go brilliantly right. Mike: I might try and be Thierry Henry for the day and play for Arsenal and see what that’s like. Andrew: No, not really. Andrew: Não, realmente não.
