| The View are on fire! The View zijn in brand!  UK Music meet Dundee quartet The View in a Birmingham pub close to the venue where they’re due to play that night alongside 747s and Aussie rockers Jet. UK Music voldoen aan Dundee kwartet The View in Birmingham een pub vlakbij de plaats waar ze zijn te wijten aan spelen die avond samen met 747s en Aussie rockers Jet. They’re all here present and correct, if a little tired. Ze zijn allemaal hier aanwezig zijn en correct zijn, als er een beetje moe. The View are named after The Bayview Bar, their local where they used to rehearse before being banned. The View zijn vernoemd naar het Bayview Bar, waar ze hun lokale gebruikt om te repeteren alvorens te worden verboden. Their debut single, Wasted Little DJs, was released back in August which crashed into the charts at number 15 and they haven’t looked back since. Hun debuut single, Wasted Little DJ's, werd uitgebracht in augustus, die crashte in de hitlijsten op nummer 15 en zij hebben daar geen weg terug meer. “ It’s exciting that it’s happened so fast, but it’ll probably go away as quick as it came ,” reckons guitarist Pete Reilly. "Het is fantastisch dat het gebeurde zo snel, maar het zal waarschijnlijk verdwijnen even snel als ze kwamen," reckons gitarist Pete Reilly. Also consisting of guitarist/vocalist Kyle Falconer, bassist Kieren Webster and drummer Steve Morrison, the View were signed by former Rough Trade A & R man James Endeacott, who had also previously snapped up The Libertines. Ze hadden ook een beetje een helpende hand uit ex-libertijnse en Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty. “ I gave him a CD in Dundee and he must have thought it was a good one and he let us play that night in Dundee. He gets a bit of a hard time in the press,” explains Kieren who also sticks up for the troubled rocker. Er is een duidelijk gebrek aan bands, zodat ze zeker nu de helden in hun woonplaats. “ I wouldn’t say ‘heroes’, but we’re a popular band ,” says Kieren. "Ik zou niet willen zeggen 'helden', maar we zijn een populaire band," zegt Kieren. “ We’re definitely flying the flag for rock ‘n’ roll bands Dundee bands anyway. "We zijn zeker dat de vlag voor de rock 'n' roll bands Dundee bands in ieder geval. There’s been a couple of like pop bands, but no rock bands ”. They may have not been around for long but already the View have gained notoriety in the press for their various escapades one of which includes Steve nearly getting arrested with Pete Doherty in Birmingham for driving the wrong way down a one way street. Something of a celebration, the video shoot was packed with locals as extras. Iets van een feest, de video-shoot was gevuld met locals als extra's. “ Most of the fans that came were friends and family. "Het merendeel van de fans die waren vrienden en familie. I couldn’t even go up my own stairs could I ?” Kyle tells us. Ik kon zelfs niet omhoog gaan mijn eigen trap zou ik? " We’re quite excitable youngsters compared to other bands we know and stuff ,” says Kieren. “ We’d get a bit worried if that was all people cared about, like that’s the reason they come to see us. We are genuinely well behaved compared to most other bands ”. "We zijn heel exciteerbare jongeren in vergelijking met andere bands we weten enzo," zegt Kieren. "We krijgen een beetje ongerust als dat alle mensen verzorgd bombarie, zoals dat is de reden dat ze komen om ons te zien. Wij zijn echt goed gedragen ten opzichte van de meeste andere bands ". Their debut album, the name of which they won’t divulge just yet, is due for release in January. Hun debuut album, waarvan de naam zullen ze voorlopig nog niet bekendmaken, is verschuldigd voor de release in januari. It was recorded with Owen Morris who has also produced albums by Oasis and the Verve and described as a “great guy. “ We wanted it like a live set. "We wilden er graag een live set. The album sounds like what the live set sounds like ,” starts Kieren. Thanks to the hype that’s surrounding them there will obviously be a huge anticipation, not to mention expectation for their debut album. "Het is gebeurd en we nu echt leuk vinden. You can interpret it however you want to interpret it ,” says Kieren. U kunt interpreteren hoe je het wilt interpreteren, "zegt Kieren. “ You’ll get some arseholes who’ll say it sounds like Libertines or whatever… If you’ve got a guitar and a drum kit it’s gonna sound like a lot of the other bands ”. "Je krijgt een aantal arseholes die zullen zeggen dat het klinkt als Libertines of wat dan ook ... Als je hebt een gitaar en een drum kit is gaan klinken als een partij van de andere bands". There’s much to look forward to in the View camp. Er is veel om naar uit te kijken in het Weergave-kamp. As well as their headline tour at the end of the year, there’s also a support slot with Primal Scream. Net als hun headline tour aan het eind van het jaar is er ook een support-sleuf met Primal Scream. Having played gigged with the British rock legends before, how do the young upstarts rate their chances of being able to out party the masters? Na gespeeld gigged met de Britse rock legendes voor, hoe denkt de jonge upstarts tarief hun de kans om een partij de meesters? “ I don’t think so …” "Ik denk het niet ..." considers Steve. meent Steve. “ We’ll give it a good go though !” grins Pete.
