 Elbow start the New Year with a new single and their largest ever UK headline date. Elbow starten het nieuwe jaar met een nieuwe single en hun grootste ooit UK kop datum. 'Not A Job' is taken from the universally acclaimed 'Cast of Thousands' and features new tracks, exclusive cover versions and visual surprises across the three formats. Elbow returned in 2003 following the success of their Mercury nominated debut LP, 'Asleep in the Back' with "Cast of Thousands', regarded by Uncut on it's release as "a frontrunner for finest album of 2003'. 'Not A Job' is afgeleid van het alom geprezen 'Cast van Duizenden' en bevat nieuwe tracks, exclusieve cover versies en visuele verrassingen in de drie formaten. The preceding single, 'Fallen Angel', saw the band achieve their highest ever single placing and return to the Top of the Pops studio to bemuse the podium dancers. De vorige single, "Fallen Angel", zag de band bereiken hun hoogste ooit enkele plaatsen en terug te keren naar de Top of the Pops studio doen twijfelen aan het podium dansers. 'Cast of Thousands' ended the year at the top end of many magazines' Best of 2004 lists with NME putting it at Number 4 whilst Chris Martin and Jamie Cullum named it as their favourite LP of the year. As with previous elbow single releases, a DVD release will feature Guy's photos from life on the road whilst the maxi CD version features the band's celebrated cover of Massive Attack's 'Teardrop', originally recorded for Radio One's Jo Whiley. Also included is a version of 'Live On My Mind' by Canadian legend Bruce Cockburn, a favourite song of Guy's and an artist held in high regard by the band for his political standpoint and extensive musical output over 30 years. In addition to the videos for 'Not A Job' and 'Fugitive Motel', the DVD release also features a reworked version of 'Theme From Munroe Kelly', originally included on the band's debut (and now impossible to find) 'Noisebox' EP in 1998. elbow play their largest ever London show at Brixton Academy on February 19th. elleboog spelen hun grootste ooit show in London Brixton Academy op 19 februari.
