"Wir nehmen diese Scheiße zurück", behauptet Marco Polo, die zu Beginn der "Port Authority", "zurück, wo alles begann". And, sure enough, these 18 tracks – as strong as most of them are – do find old MP clinging to the past like some sample-obsessed Canadian limpet. Und sicher genug, diesen 18 Tracks - so stark wie die meisten von ihnen sind - Sie finden alt MP Festhalten an der Vergangenheit wie einige Probe-besessen kanadischen Klette. However, it's only my being a bit of stickler for some originality on a record that drags this review down because, on the whole, this is a very good hip hop album. Only 'Low Budget Allstars' – a poor man's refix of P Diddy's 'Bad Boy For Life' - really lets MP (and this album) down; otherwise it's pretty much track after track of decent 90s head-nod business. Nur "Low Budget Allstars" - ein armer Mann's refix von P Diddy's "Bad Boy for Life" - wirklich können MP (und dieses Album) nach unten, sonst ist es ziemlich viel Spur nach Spur der menschenwürdigen 90er Jahren Kopf-nicken Geschäft. The guest spots are very impressive too. Die Gast-Spots sind sehr beeindruckend zu. DITC veteran and 'Time's Up' creator, OC, is excellent on 'Marquee', as is Jo Jo Pellegrino on 'Speak Softly'. DITC Veteran und "Time's Up" Schöpfer, OC, eignet sich hervorragend zum Thema "Marquee", wie es Jo Jo Pellegrino auf "Speak Softly". Large Professor's cameo on 'The Radar' is very good also – mainly due to his referencing “Shaggy's 'Boombastic'” in the first verse – however, the title of best track on this album has to go to the Kardinal Offishal-assisted 'War', which exposes “fake ass dudes with no clues and Pro-Tools and Bathing Ape shoes” in between a brilliantly booming, doom-filled chorus. Large Professor's Cameo zum Thema "Die Radar" ist auch sehr gut - vor allem wegen seiner Referenzierung "Shaggy's" Boombastic "" in der ersten Strophe - jedoch, den Titel der besten Tracks auf diesem Album hat, um zum Kardinal Offishal-unterstützte Krieg ", Durch das" Fake ass dudes ohne Hinweise und Pro-Tools und Bathing Ape Schuhe "in der zwischen einem brillant boomt, Doom-Refrain besetzt. 'Port Authority' is certainly a worthy addition to any hip hop fan's CD collection but it's unlikely to turn any heads or convert any non-believers.
